Our partnership approach

We work in partnership from day one with our schools and parents to promote healthy meals for the pupils, eco-friendly food choices and increase meal uptake. We offer: Tailored and varied menus Our tasty lunches are tailored to the demographics of the area, whilst also being locally sourced and ethically grown.

We keep pupils interested by offering input into the creation of the menus, by, for example, regularly working with the student councils to tailor our menus; we also offer age-appropriate choices, taster sessions and the option to change a choice if it is not proving popular. Through our free theme days and events, we encourage children to try new things and foster a love of healthy and sustainable food. Fun theme days We organise at least one fun-filled theme day a month at our schools, as well as theme weeks, such as National School Meal Week, promoting both healthy eating and climate-friendly food.

We participate in national campaigns such as ITV’s Eat to Defeat Them Campaign. The children love them, and they are a fantastic tool for increasing meal uptake and educating children through our love of food. Special food-based educational activities We support the council to deliver their school food programme, which offers engaging, educational food-themed activities at schools across the borough.
