Fire alarm system testing, maintenance and installation
Fire Alarm Systems form the core of a building's fire strategy, so it is imperative that they are maintained correctly and regularly.
Performing regular fire alarm maintenance is essential for all businesses. Businesses have a legal obligation to ensure that their fire alarm system adheres to current regulatory standards and is in good working order.
Our expert engineers and technicians support businesses and schools by providing a comprehensive maintenance and service package on all types of fire alarm systems.
Our fire alarm maintenance contracts are designed to ensure that fire alarms are always operating at optimum levels, guaranteeing that buildings and people are protected and that all legal requirements are met.
The period between inspection and servicing visits is calculated based on the requirements of specific settings. We will offer guidance on how long this period should be and conduct a risk assessment that considers the type of system installed, the environment in which it operates, and other factors that may affect the long-term operation of the system to calculate how long that period should be.
Fire extinguishers maintenance and testing
Fire extinguishers should be serviced annually by competent fire extinguisher engineers to comply with BS 5306. We provide this service as part of our ongoing maintenance programme to clients, ensuring equipment is always in prime condition and safe.
During the annual service, engineers undertake a full maintenance check, thorough examination and, if needed, repair in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and BS5306 guidelines. Extinguishers are then tagged and dated, or replaced if they cannot be repaired. Our engineers will also look at where the extinguishers are located to ensure they are in the right place and whether they are fitted correctly on their stand. They will also check how fire extinguishers are grouped and if that is still appropriate for the hazards within that area.
It is a legal requirement to keep records of all fire extinguisher inspections, servicing and maintenance.
Customers should also undertake their own monthly checks and report any issues to us. This will prolong the life of the equipment, keep people safe and save money.
Fixed fire systems maintenance and testing
We are specialists in many aspects of fire safety and offer maintenance contracts on all fire sprinkler systems. We offer different levels of maintenance and servicing contracts and will work with clients to develop a schedule for maintenance services, tests and inspections to ensure all legal requirements are met.
We also service other fire safety equipment such as dry risers and fire hydrants. Regulations stipulate that dry risers should have an operating pressure of 12 bar, are visually inspected every 6 months and tested annually.
Our fixed fire systems maintenance and testing services can be combined with other fire safety equipment servicing to lower the costs and simplify the management of these services.
