Our People

Our people are our biggest asset. We directly employ over 650 people with a wide range of skills, expertise and knowledge.

BD Group has always recognised the importance of all of our frontline staff and the contribution they make to our business and local community. We are committed to ethical employment terms and have always paid all our staff the London Living Wage, as a minimum.

We invest in our people, developing our talent from within. We offer a comprehensive learning and development programme, giving our people the opportunity to continually develop their skills and knowledge. Our people know they are valued and central to our growth and success.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to providing a culture where all employees are treated with dignity and respect, and are valued as individuals. We proactively look to offer employment and training opportunities to local people and support initiatives to provide employment and apprenticeships to young and disadvantaged people. We have built a culture of equality and diversity throughout our business and the contracts we deliver.

Training

We are committed to raising the skills and qualifications of the local workforce through comprehensive programmes of job-related skills training and provide a wide-range of support for staff who want to improve their skills and gain new qualifications.

We have an online e-learning system which all staff are able to access remotely. Our staff are trained to a minimum of Health and Safety at Work Level 2 and all our catering staff are qualified to a minimum Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene for Catering.
