The importance of colour coding in cleaning

We need to talk about #ColourCodingForCleaningandHygiene
May 2021 is colour coding awareness month at the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), an initiative that BD Together is very keen to get behind!
Following a colour-coding system has many benefits, including reducing the risk of cross-contamination from one cleaning area or surface to another and making life easier for cleaning operatives. BD Together is a big advocate of this system, and ensures that its cleaning operatives follow the guidance, understand its benefits and are fully-trained in this system and others promoted by the BICSc.
Darren Tranter, MD of BD Together, commented, “It is fantastic to see BICSc highlighting the importance of colour coding in the cleaning industry – not just during May but throughout the year. At BD Together, we ensure that all of our cleaning staff are fully-trained in the colour coding system promoted by BICSc and know why it is important.
“We also apply the principles of colour-coding in our catering business, with our catering staff using colour-coded chopping boards and knives to ensure the best hygiene practices are followed in all aspects of our business. Our clients can be confident that their premises are clean and safe.”
BD Together is a corporate member of BICSc as part of its commitment to best practice, offering exceptional cleaning services to clients and developing the skills and knowledge of our cleaning staff.
