Midway through a successful National School Meals Week!

Midway through National School Meals Week and what a success it has been so far! The children at our schools in Barking and Dagenham have really enjoyed the special menus, including today's #RoastDinnerDay, leading to a significant increase in meal uptake every day. We still have our Mix It Up Menu and School Food Challenge to come!

As part of the Eat and Learn initiative we are running this week, we have been celebrating unusual vegetables, along with suggestions on how best to cook and enjoy them. Today's is arugula, also known as rocket, a peppery vegetable that is delicious raw in a salad or steamed and served with chicken or lamb.

National School Meals Week is an initiative organised by LACA - The School Food People, to raise awareness of the benefits children get from having a hot school lunch every day
