Great Bee Bake Off winners announced
Congratulations to the worthy winners of our Great Bee Bakeoff!
As part of World Bee Day, we held at baking competition amongst our kitchen catering teams. The standard of bee-themed cakes was so high that our Senior Leadership Team found it very hard to choose the winners! Click here to see all the entries.
The winners of our Great Bee Bake Off were:
1st place: Vicky at St Joseph’s Primary School, winning £75 of Amazon vouchers
2nd place: Michelle at Southwood Primary School, winning £50 of Amazon vouchers
3rd place: Dolly at Southwood Primary School, winning £25 of Amazon vouchers
The cakes have been raffled off by the schools with the proceeds being donated to charities chosen by the schools.
The Great Bee Bake Off is just one of the activities our teams organised for World Bee Day on 20th May to raise awareness of the importance of bees amongst the children, within the schools and with colleagues. These included offering a special honey-themed menu and donating insect and bee hotels for school gardens.
The day was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the important role that bees play whilst also increasing meal uptake in our schools, on what was also School Census day.
