We develop social value plans, in partnership with our clients, to deliver long-term, sustainable outcomes. We proactively look to offer employment and training opportunities to local people and support initiatives to provide employment opportunities to young and disadvantaged people.
We aim to improve the overall health of the Borough by investing in the development of our team, teaching life skills, such as cooking, through after school classes and delivering workshops to promote good health across the community.
BD Group teams up with LBBD on innovative recipe cookbook
BD Group has teamed up with the London borough of Barking and Dagenham on an innovative new community-led recipe book.
Come Cook with Us is designed to bring people together to cook low-cost energy meals that are tasty and nourishing, as everyone should have the confidence to cook a wholesome meal from scratch on a budget.
Many of the recipes in the book were created or shared at Come Cook with Us community cooking clubs that have been running in the borough since February 2023. The clubs bring residents together to cook and share food.
On his involvement Dan said: “The recipe book is such a fantastic idea, and I was delighted to be asked to get involved. My recipe was originally one I shared with some of our schools that were growing their own greens. I’m pleased it could be of use to the wider community”.
